Solar PV

Successful investments in Europe and Middle-East

Three projects combine to bring DGE’s power generating gross capacity in France to 111 MW, enough to supply around 40,000 homes.

  • DGE is working in partnership with strong local players to develop a range of independent solar power projects. Our solar plants use photovoltaic panel with photovoltaic cells made of layers of crystalline silicon. These cells convert irradiation from sunlight into electricity.
  • In January and August 2013, after securing loan facility agreements with Japanese and French financial institutions, DGE acquired 50% stakes in three French solar projects from EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF EN), all built with thin-film photovoltaic modules supplied by First Solar. These projects are at Toul in Meurthe-et-Moselle, eastern France, Crucey in Eure-et-Loir, central France and Massangis in Yonne, central France.
  • Since acquisition, DGE has successfully operated the projects jointly with EDF EN. In addition, DGE continually tracks and benchmarks performance and proactively identifies opportunities to enhance returns and to ensure each project remains best in class, both operationally and financially.

DGE is also involved in similar Solar PV assets in Jordan and Portugal especially.
